So you are pregnant and want to hire a doula, congratulations!
We are also currently living during a worldwide pandemic that doesn’t seem to be interested in slowing down or cooling off.
We are as frustrated as you are!
Hiring a doula during covid can seem kind of tricky. Maybe you aren’t sure if they will even let your doula into the hospital. Maybe you are really wanting your partner and mother or sister in the room for the birth of your baby. All of these things are valid and frustrating! We want all families to have the support they need during the birth of their babies.
You may now be wondering, what can be done? How do we prepare for the future when we don’t know what the future holds? At this time My KC Doula is offering in person care for all of our clients. Many of the hospitals in the area are still allowing two visitors in the labor and delivery room and we are so grateful for that. Mask wearing, hand washing and distancing when we can are things that we take seriously so that we can be healthy for our clients.
When we do have hospitals move to one person in the L&D room, we will be offering virtual support through facetime, phone calls and however else we can. We also will be offering in person support for our clients before they head to the hospital as well as in person support for our postpartum and prenatal visits.
If you have any questions about how we are moving forward and working hard to keep afloat, please contact us and we will be happy to walk through this information with you. Together we can get birth back to normal and work to ensure every family has the birth experience of their dreams.
