Moving to Kansas City has been an eye opening experience and I've learned a lot about big city life over the past few months. The traffic, insane amount of construction and slightly bizarre but comforting small town/big city feel have all been nuggets of joy that come with getting to know this new place.
I technically live in Kansas City. About one mile down the road is Liberty, MO. Liberty, MO is the definition of quaint, adorable, charming and historic city. You can practically feel the history as you walk down the streets of Liberty. In the same breath, the growth that has come to this little city in the past few years is booming! Everything you can possibly need is located near by.
Its definitely the definition of small town life with big city attractions and I absolutely love that about it.
I have had a blast getting to know the resources around the area, including touring the amazing birthing facility at Liberty Hospital. It's family friendly and conducive to the types of birthing experiences so many new families are looking for. The staff was so friendly and willing to help in any way they could. I was thrilled by the resources they have available and lets just take a minute of silence for the insanely gorgeous showers and spa like labor tub in the hospital.

One unfortunate thing about Liberty is that I think it often gets forgotten in the birth community. The staff said that they don't often have doulas participating in births at Liberty Hospital because the resources just aren't there, in and around that area and many doulas simply don't drive that far.
