Using a Menstrual Cup After Baby

Menstrual Cup. 

Just typing it makes me shudder a little bit. 

I was hesitant to use a menstrual cup for around 4 years. When I first heard of them, they were attached to the name "diva Cup." Diva cup? I'm no diva! That does not sound like something I would ever be interested in. I'll stick with my tampons, thanks. 

Then one day, in preparation for my first postpartum period with my second baby, I was hanging out at Tiny Feet BOutique and talking to some friends. They began discussing the menstrual cup that the store sold and I was totally grossed out. Then someone said "you only have to empty and clean it once or twice a day!" I thought I was Invincible and Now I'm Sunburnt

I thought I was invincible. 

I spent the day at Worlds of Fun, the amusement park, with my husband, for our 5 year wedding anniversary celebration. 

I didn't wear sunscreen. 

Now I'm sunburnt and it hurts to raise my eyebrows.

Parenting Is A Lot Like Swimming Lessons

Picture this: It's the first day of swimming lessons. My son steps onto the top step of the swimming pool, sits down, gets out and says "all done mommy!" 

It's been a rough summer. We have given the "trust" talk more than I can count, endured screaming fits of anguish, temper tantrums abound, and finally a calm recognition that it may not be fun, but it's necessary to learn to swim.
