As a former elementary school teacher, who studied special education, I've always held play therapy in high regard. When I heard about We Rock The Spectrum, I knew it was a place that I wanted to support. 

I had the chance to attend WRTS-KC with my children in tow and was mesmerized at the play space that was set up. I felt so grateful that my children now had a place to play with every type of child and that judgement, ridicule and isolation, would be left at the door. My toddler and preschooler had an absolute blast! They ran, jumped, tumbled, swung and climbed. 

I was able to talk to the Owner Cassidi Jobe about what brought her and this ingenious business to the northland.

Just typing it makes me shudder a little bit. 

I was hesitant to use a menstrual cup for around 4 years. When I first heard of them, they were attached to the name "diva Cup." Diva cup? I'm no diva! That does not sound like something I would ever be interested in. I'll stick with my tampons, thanks. 

Then one day, in preparation for my first postpartum period with my second baby, I was hanging out at Tiny Feet BOutique and talking to some friends. They began discussing the menstrual cup that the store sold and I was totally grossed out. Then someone said "you only have to empty and clean it once or twice a day!" An Unexpected and Overwhelming Premature Birth

Everyone feels the need to write down their birth story- as if the remembering will make it more real. But in truth it is always surreal. It is always something you can’t quite grasp, somewhere between a whisper and a shout that life is beginning!

I was not ready to write down my story for the world until a year after G’s birth. I’d written parts down for close friends, and told my family the details they were interested in, but I think I wanted to keep it for myself. Having a baby is one part magic, one part miracle and as the vessel, the mother feels that magic keenly.
